PRE BORE
Pre bore merupakan salah satu kaedah yang digunakan dalam kerja cerucuk, di mana pre bore dilakukan dahulu contohnya sedalam 15m, kemudian diikuti kerja penanaman cerucuk (spun pile). Ia biasa digunakan di mana kawasan tersebut iaitu pada kedalaman 15m terdapat boulder atauun batuan keras (refer SI).
Sebelum kerja pre bore di mulakan pihak kontraktor perlu menghantar method statement kepada client untuk semakan dan pengesahan. Selepas itu barulah kerja boleh dimulakan. Ini adalah untuk mengelakkan daripada kesilapan pihak kontraktor melakukan kerja dan memastikan prosedur dan spesifikasi dipatuhi.
Pre bore tidak boleh dilakukan terhadap keseluruhan point sekaligus.Ianya perlu di pre bore dahulu untuk point yang pertama dan diikuti oleh pile driving dan diikuti point yang seterusnya. Ini adalah perlu untuk mengelakkan lubang ynag di pre bore itu mengalami hakisan dan menyebabkan penusukan cerucuk tidak mencapai pada kedalaman yang sepatutnya ( contohnya set pada kedalaman lingkunagn 15m iaitu pada kedalaman pre bore). Walaubagaimanapun kaedah ini perlu di semak dahulu dari segi adakah praktikal dari segi penggunaan machinery atau perlukah membuat arrangement terhadap kedudukan point atau ada kaedah yang boleh dilakukan untuk mengelakkan hakisan dalam lubang pre bore yang menyebabkan pile set pada kedalaman pre bore).

HIGHWAY ENGINEERING
a.Sistem Jalan Raya Malaysia
- Jalan Persekutuan - Menghubungkan antara bandar dan negeri. Di bina dan disenggara menggunakan peruntukan dari kerajaan persekutuan di bawah JKR persekutuan.
- Jalan Tol - Dibina dan di senggara oleh LLM. Alternatif kepada Jalan Persekutuan. Contoh konsesi ialah PLUS di bawah design, built and operates.
- Jalan Negeri - Menghubungkan antara kawasan dalam negeri. Di bina dan diselenggara di bawah peruntukan kerajaan negeri atau persekutuan-tanggungjawab JKR Negeri.
- Jalan Majlis Perbandaran atau Daerah - Dalam kawasan majlis perbandaran atau daerah termasuk yang dibina oleh pemaju perumahan. Kewangan sendiri di subsidi oleh Persekutuan.
- Jalan Kecil - Jalan dikampung dibina dan disenggara Majlis Daerah melalui peruntukan kewangan Kerajaan Negeri.
b. Pavement Structure
- Subgrade - The uppermost part of the soil, natural or imported, supporting the load transmitted from the overlaying layers. The strength of subgred layer is important as the thickness or load of upper layers is dependent on it.
EARTHWORKS
Mass Haul Diagram
Mass haul diagram (long sect. and cross sect.) - things you need to provide before start any earthworks activity. Its to determine especially the quantity of cut and fill required. Informations need to produce the diagram are the OGL survey data. From the diagram any VO can be trace at the early stage of construction.
Survey Work
OGL-to confirm with pre com level. And then minus 150mm stripping top soil and level after that is EGL/existing ground level (reference level for calculate the volume of cut and fill)
Quantity/Joint Measurement
To remind that before every covering works (sand, geotextile, earth fill etc), joint measurement or survey must be conducted between the client and contractor.
